Orange, Cranberry Cream Scones

Cranberry Orange Scones

Light buttery moist scones loaded with recommendations of orange zest, recent and dried cranberries with a recent orange glaze.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2-3 Tablespoons orange zest
  • (from one medium orange)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, cold
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/3 cup recent cranberries
  • 2 teaspoons sanding sugar, or ordinary sugar (optional garnish)
  • Glaze
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Orange Juice


  1. Preheat oven to 375° degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment or silicone baking sheets.
  2. Place the flour, sugar, orange zest, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Mix with wire whisk.
  3. Grate or cut butter into small squares and cut into flour combination with pastry blender till combination resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add in 3/4 cup of heavy whipping cream. Mix till combination starts to type huge balls. Mix with fingers till meals combine and are available together.
  5. Add in dried and recent cranberries. Gently knead cranberries into dough within the bowl.
  6. Place on floured floor and pat right into a 10 inch circle a half inch thick. Sprinkle with sugar. Cut into 8 triangles. Place on lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes or till scones are calmly golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and cool. While scones are cooling make orange glaze by using means of blending 3/4 powder sugar and 2 Tablespoons Orange juice till smooth. Drizzle over ideal of scones.
  9. Serve immediately, shop in zip lock bags, or freeze.
